Online Auction for the Lauinger Estate Firearms in Culpeper, VA
TERMS:
Property sells "AS-IS" and "WHERE-IS" without warranties of any kind. Potential Buyers must perform such independent investigations with respect to the Property as they deem necessary to verify information provided by Auction Company.
WARRANTY :
All information provided by Auction Company is deemed reliable but is not warranted. The information provided by the Auction Company is subject to verification by all parties relying on it. No liability for its accuracy, error or omission is assumed by the Auction Company.
REGISTRATION:
Bids will be accepted only from registered bidders. You will need a credit card to register online or call for additional options. The bidding platform may place a $1 temporary charge on your card to ensure it is valid.
ONLINE BIDDING:
This in an online ONLY auction. Bidding will close in stages at 6 PM on Monday, February 9, 2026. Lots will close in groups spaced every 90 seconds to allow bidders to keep up with multiple items. There is a soft close meaning if a bid is placed in the last seconds of the auction, the bidding on that item will be extended for 90 seconds until no further bidding occurs.
BUYER'S PREMIUM:
A TEN PERCENT (10%) Buyer's Premium will be added to the high bid to determine the final sales price. There is an additional 4% fee if paying by credit card.
SALES TAX:
A 5.3% sales tax will be charged for this auction.
PAYMENT:
NOTE: We do not automatically charge the card used to register.
At the conclusion of the auction, you will receive an invoice to your registered email.
To pay by Credit Card (4% fee), use the payment link in the email prior to pick up.
If paying by Cash or Good Check, you may pay at time of pickup.
Auction company reserves the right to hold items/titles until check or charge clears.
Payment Deadline: Full settlement must not be later than 1PM EST on Feb.12 and prior to item removal.
If payment has not been received by Payment Deadline, your credit card on file will be charged the invoiced amount. If payment does not go through, your account will be in default. If not remedied within one business day, the Auction Company will have the right to immediately resell, store, or discard your item and you will be liable for any associated costs or losses.
APPROVAL:
Starting bid is minimum bid and all items sell to highest bidder.
FIREARMS:
Purchasers may pickup firearms beginning Monday, February 16 at Purcell’s Custom Firearms, 102 S Madison Rd, Orange, VA.
All State and Federal Gun Laws Apply.
Shipping is available to FFL dealers.
Purchasers of firearms MUST:
- have remitted payment to TRF Auctions prior to pickup. Purcell’s DOES NOT collect payment for firearms. Purcell’s will require a PAID receipt from TRF Auctions.
- Virginia Residents must be able to provide a valid Virginia Driver's License.
- Non-Virginia Residents cannot pick up handguns. You will need to make arrangements to have your firearm(s) shipped (at your expense) to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your state of residency to complete the transfer. The out-of-state transfer fee is $55 per firearm plus shipping. A wire transfer may be required for out-of-state buyers for firearm purchases over $1,000.
- be at least 18 years old for rifles / shotguns and at least 21 years old for handguns.
- must be able to pass a background check. Please DO NOT bid if you cannot pass a background check.
- The registered bidder must be the one who picks up the firearm.
- Background check and transfer provided by Purcell’s Custom Firearms, 102 S Madison Rd, Orange, VA. Transfer fees are $35 per firearm payable to Purcell’s Custom Firearms. For out of state transfers, it is $55 per firearm plus shipping.
- Unless you have a concealed carry permit, you are only allowed to purchase one pistol a month in the state of Virginia. There is no limit on rifles and shotguns.
- Firearms not picked up after 90 days will be charged $20 per month storage. After 180 days, they will be considered abandoned and become the property of Purcell’s.
- Buyers are purchasing firearms based on the pictures provided by the auction company. There is NO preview. ALL FIREARMS ARE SOLD AS-IS WITH NO WARRANTIES OR REFUNDS.

Any damage to the real estate by the Purchaser or its agents is the responsibility of the Purchaser.
